Wild Deer Ecology & Muntjac in the Water Meadows (talk)

Rob Jackson will give an overview of the origins and ecology of the six wild species of UK deer, including population density and deer impact on the habitat. There will also be opportunity for a more focussed discussion on Muntjac Deer in the Water Meadows area and work that is being done to monitor population growth and what a sustainable population might look like.

Rob Jackson is a British Deer Society (BDS) qualified deer manager who is passionate about the sustainable future of UK wild deer. Rob has managed all six species of wild deer in the UK and written articles and given lectures for the BDS and has consulted for local authorities on deer impact and population monitoring. He is a trainer for national Deer Management Qualifications and a deer manager for the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

All talks are in the Talks Tent, at the BioBlitz Hub in the Abbey Gardens, near the Lark footbridge by the play area.
