Conferring with the flowers: why a botanist is never bored (guided walk)
May 18 @ 10:45 – 11:45
Join Anna on a stroll along the entangled banks of the Lark, and beyond, to become acquainted with the plants of many kinds that live around us. Learn how to recognise the stork’s-bills, mouse-ears and lion’s teeth that can be found at our feet and discover a few of the fascinating strategies employed by different plant species to help them thrive and survive.
Anna works for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, helping to make knowledge of the world’s plant diversity accessible to all through digitisation of Kew’s specimen collections. She lives in Bury and volunteers locally with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the Breckland Flora Group.
Meet 10.40am at the BioBlitz Hub in the Abbey Gardens (near the Lark footbridge and play area) to join this walk
