Save Our Suffolk Swifts (talk)
May 18 @ 12:00 – 12:45
The swift is one of those birds it is easy to take for granted. Arriving in England for the summer to breed, the high soaring scimitar shapes in the sky and the screaming of the bird around the rooftops can slip into the background of everyday life. Yet over the last 25 years there has been a decline of over 50% of the birds we see.
SOS Swifts is a joint project between Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Suffolk Bird Group, with a five point plan to make a difference:
1. Save traditional nesting spaces
2. Put up boxes as new nesting spaces
3. Play calls alongside boxes to attract birds to new locations
4. Boost insect life by making your garden and community more wildlife friendly
5. Celebrate and enjoy their summer visit

All talks are in the Talks Tent, at the BioBlitz Hub in the Abbey Gardens, near the Lark footbridge by the play area.
