Guided Walk: How Bury’s Lark Valley has changed over the centuries with Peta Levantis

May 16 @ 15:00 16:00

Peta Levantis, a long term member of BWMG, has been a Bury St Edmunds town guide for nearly
twenty years, taking groups around the abbey site and the ancient town to explain their amazing
heritage. This hour long walk explains how our local river landscape was transformed from a natural wetland to an architectural masterpiece, visited by numerous monarchs. It was later deliberately destroyed and the land and building materials sold. New owners and new uses for the area gradually
emerged until today we enjoy a prize winning public park bordered by carefully nurtured green
areas.
