Recently, on a walk in Ram Meadow to work out which ditch needs our attention next, not only did we watch a kingfisher for several minutes going backwards and forwards on a stretch of the Lark looking for a meal, but I also went to look at our 2019 plantings of snowdrops by Football meadow near the South entrance.
They are looking at their best now and the clumps are really spreading. They are not native, but have been around since the16th century so are considered naturalised. Their brilliant white petals and green leaves herald the first signs of spring and are a welcome sight, especially remembering the work party where we planted 5000 of them!
